My Pollinator Garden Inspiration
Welcome to my world of abstract whimsy, color, plants, and all things beautiful that nature has to offer. I’m so glad you’re here.
I spend a lot of time in my gardens, and quiet often, I find myself turning to my pollinator flower garden for inspiration when creating my abstract floral paintings. One of my favorite things to do as I am watering and weeding is observing and photographing the flowers. I also love how the beautiful and colorful natural objects in the garden are perfect subjects for artistic explorations incorporating line and bright color.
I’m a bee lover, insect lover, butterfly lover and I find that there's something beautifully inviting and inspiring about a garden filled with pollinator-friendly flowers as well as the pollinators themselves. I tried growing milkweed this year to provide food for the monarchs. Unfortunately, we had very few monarchs this year, and I haven’t seen any fluttering around the milkweed but I did enjoy the milkweed eco system that evolved. The milkweed is young and didn’t flower much this year but I did have a couple if seed pods. I may not have any monarch cats this year but, I just counted 12 black swallowtail cats on the dill tonight. They are tiny but I’m so excited to watch them grow. I’ll be providing updates on these and will probably do a few abstract paintings using this gorgeous butterfly as inspiration.
